Waiver of Room Cleaning
You have the option to waive room cleaning and thus save resources, in return you will receive CHF 5.00 per person per night refunded (from 2 nights).
No Disposable Slippers
To reduce the amount of waste, we have stopped providing disposable slippers in the spa bag and in the rooms since 2022. If required, you can purchase flip-flops with cork insoles from Schnarwiler for CHF 7.00 at reception.
Printed materials
Our printed materials are produced by local printers in Switzerland: short transport distances, FSC-certified paper, and production using chemical-free printing plates and EWO NaturStrom. In addition, the printers support climate protection projects run by ClimatePartner and carbon-connect through the purchase of CO₂ credits. Details: Küchler Druck and von Ah Druck.
Regional Food
We source more than half of our food from regional producers and retailers, as shown in our list of suppliers.
Preventing Food Waste
To avoid food waste, we forgo the lunch buffet and serve meals at seminars and large groups à la carte.
O-iO Forest
By planting a sapling on behalf of the Seehotel Wilerbad, we are taking part in the O-iO Forest Project, which was launched by «Oldtimer in Obwalden».
Use of Terry Towels
Upon request, terry towels in the rooms can be used multiple times; the instructions for handling can be found in the room.
Spa Basket
Sauna and terry towels are deliberately provided in a spa basket to keep the consumption of terry linen within limits. Additional towels are always available upon request.
Save Water
Our showers are equipped with a flow regulator, which helps to save water.
GRANDER Water
We have GRANDER Water in the house and can thus reduce the use of cleaning and washing agents (according to our own comparison models).
Strict Waste Separation
We adhere strictly to waste separation. Our organic waste is processed into biogas in Kägiswil by Naturaenergie AG.
Spa Building
Our spa building was constructed using Swiss timber. It was designed by Imhof Architekten AG of Sarnen and built by local companies, including Holzbautechnik Burch AG of Sarnen.
LED
Wherever possible, LED bulbs are used.
Shuttle service and e-charging stations
We promote travel by public transport and offer you a free shuttle service to and from Sarnen station (for guests with overnight stays). In addition, we have installed two e-charging stations for electric cars at our location.
Solar Energy
The outdoor and brine pools are partially heated with solar energy.
Cruelty-Free Natural Cosmetics
Our cosmetic line «comfort zone» is made from natural oils and fats. The processing is done with energy from renewable sources, and animal testing is completely avoided.
Various
Our service aprons are made from recycled plastic bottles and our straws are compostable.
