In 2013, water plays a very special role at the Seehotel Wilerbad. Hostess Renate Stocker and her team used the New Year's Eve celebration of 2012/2013 and the first hours of the year to pay respect to the element of water in a charitable action with around CHF 1,600.00 and to support the organization "Water for Water".
Water holds great significance at the Seehotel Wilerbad – especially in 2013: With the opening of the new Wilerbad Spa in spring 2013, the hotel revives an old tradition at Lake Sarnen. Bathing in the Wilerbad sulfur spring was first done over 400 years ago. Water is a life elixir that deserves respect and care. The Seehotel, overlooking the water of Lake Sarnen and with its own Wilerbädli on the lakeshore, is closely connected to the water. This connection is also reflected in the logo. With the opening of the new Wilerbad Spa, a lot of water is used, but it is also made available to the spa guests in various forms for their well-being.
Tombola Proceeds for the Benefit of "Water for Water"
In planning the New Year's Eve celebration, the team at Seehotel Wilerbad, on the initiative of hostess Renate Stocker, sought an idea to integrate the theme of water for a good cause. This led to a tombola for the New Year's Eve guests. Numerous partners and suppliers of the hotel contributed with attractive tombola prizes, enabling the charity event to be carried out. On New Year's Eve, guests at Seehotel Wilerbad had the opportunity to buy tombola tickets for CHF 2.00. In a short time, CHF 1,662.00 was raised, which was fully donated to the "Water for Water" project. "It's a great feeling to start the year this way and know that it can help many people," rejoices hostess Renate Stocker at the money handover.
The Seehotel Wilerbad is Committed to the Organization "Water for Water" on a Long-term Basis
Almost 800 million people worldwide have no access to clean drinking water. More than 2.5 billion people have no access to sanitation facilities. WfW is committed to reducing water scarcity and improving purity in needy regions. This includes everything from water access to the construction of new wells and pipelines. WfW is an idea from two young men from Lucerne. The focus is on hotels and restaurants. More and more catering establishments sell tap water in carafes and donate the proceeds entirely to water projects in needy and water-scarce regions of the world.
For the Guest, It is Clearly Visible What WfW Means
By consuming tap water in the restaurant, people are directly given access to clean water. The Seehotel Wilerbad joined WfW on January 1, 2013, and made the first action with the donation of the New Year's Eve tombola proceeds. From now on, the consumption of tap water in WfW carafes is possible at Seehotel Wilerbad, and this proceeds also go to the donation projects.
